Glock Magazine
Disassembly

BAR

ALL WORK ON GLOCK PISTOLS SHOULD BE PERFORMED BY A GLOCK CERTIFIED ARMORER - WITHOUT EXCEPTION.

Magazine Disassembly
For the old style floorplates (the ones without the hole - break down and get the newer style), hold the magazine as shown in figure 4. Push the floor plate with the thumb of the weak hand and pull with the thumb of the strong hand. As soon as the floor plate starts to move, reposition your hand so your thumb retains the magazine spring. Remove the floor plate, magazine spring and follower.
CAUTION: The magazine spring is under tension. Be sure to maintain downward pressure on magazine spring with your thumb while disassembling.

To remove the floor plate with the magazine insert, insert the disassembly tool into the hole in the floor plate 1-2 inches (as shown in figure 2 above), push the insert down, pry against the mag spring inside the mag (levering off the floor plate - Figure 3) and now remove the floor plate. As soon as the floor plate starts to move, reposition your hand so your thumb retains the magazine spring (figure 4). Remove the floor plate, magazine spring and follower.
CAUTION: The magazine spring is under tension. Be sure to maintain downward pressure on magazine spring with your thumb while disassembling.
